Free Quote Terms and Conditions
Our quotes are fixed price and accurate. This is to avoid the trend in the building trade of quoting one figure, but eventually charging a much larger figure at the end. I do my calculations carefully and will always give you a quote for the whole job, as one fixed amount. So no guessing, estimating, no hourly rates and no call out costs or hidden charges. Our quotes are informal, no pressure and no obligation. Our quotes last 2 months before I can no longer guarantee the price on the quote. If the quote is more than 2 months old, a new quotation will happily be created.
We can quote over the phone or email with clear images and rough sizes.
We try to cover everything within the quote paperwork, but please be aware, if something is not written down it will be charged extra. For example, if we have quoted to have your walls and ceiling covered in emulsion, and nothing else, then the gloss would not be included in the quote. Sometimes people just expect items to be done, when we were expecting them not to be done, which is why I write everything down beforehand so there are as little confusions as humanly possible. If work you needed completing is not in the quotation, then this will be charged extra.
Guaranties and Warranties
We do not offer warranties and guaranties per se, but we aim to make every customer happy. If we have made the mistake we will correct it. However sometimes mistakes can be out of our control. If you have very damp walls for instance but still want decorating doing, plaster can pop and crack with moisture, which is not a fault with our decorating, but a fault with your walls. We do advise before we start for any such problems. For instance, if we advise that you strip all old wallpaper before applying new paper, but you, the customer, insists on just covering old wallpaper with new. After a few months the new paper might start peeling from the old, but as we advised to remove this beforehand, this will not be an error on our part.
We have remained a 5 star rated business, and always aim to please. We have never had bad experiences like the ones listed above, but it may still be worth baring in mind when thinking about exactly what decorating you need doing.
We will not use old, already opened paint. We can usually provide white or magnolia emulsion and gloss, but if you are after specific colours or textures, we will leave you to choose and supply that paint for your own personal preferences so we do not get anything wrong. Everyone’s tastes are different.
What We Expect To Be Ready Before We Start To Decorate
We expect large furniture that requires two people to move it out the way, we expect all breakables and fragile items to me moved as we will not handle these. However we will help move everything else. We do not work in unsanitary conditions, so if you have a lot of waste where we need to decorate this needs to be moved and cleaned prior to us arriving. We paint and decorate, not clean. If you have any pets, these will need to be kept completely away while work goes on. Not just to protect myself from things like dog bites, or pets escaping when I use the door to get in and out, but it will also protect your pet and your house. Cats can step in paint and brush up wet walls, dogs can knock paint over, etc. We also expect children to remain out the rooms and access to the rooms, and any damage caused because children or pets were not kept out the working area or access rooms, will not be our responsibility. If we are forced to move heavy items, breakables or clean, we may reschedule the date at a better time so you can get this done. Curtains, blinds and window dressings will also need to be removed, along with any pictures, mirrors, clocks or curtain poles/tracks. Small items of furniture, things one person can lift safely, chairs, etc, can all be moved by us. We can lend a hand moving larger items with yourself.
We also expect all work to be fully paid within 7 days of completion if it cannot be paid immediately.
